Vehicles in German City Found Covered with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Officers mentioned they were notified by a resident who noticed a vehicle in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement say they were notified late on Wednesday evening, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.

The substance had been drawn in the pattern of a banned symbol, they stated.

Officers then located multiple other marked cars and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are banned in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials say preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely blood from a person.

"There is still no clue as to where it came from; investigators are not yet informed of any injuries in connection with the event," they added.

Local authorities said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for information.

An important representative stated the vandalism made him without words and had to be solved rapidly.

"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he wrote on online, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a shooter targeting residents of foreign heritage in 2020.
